Background
Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport Terminal T3, as a national transportation hub, has extremely high safety requirements for pedestrian and vehicle control. To enhance its perimeter security, the airport launched the perimeter security enhancement project, which requires the installation of more than 940 units security bollards. The installation of these driveway bollards is a foundational step in infrastructure construction, and any delay will lead to the suspension of subsequent construction, making the project time limit extremely tight.
The Challenge
As a national-level transportation hub, Shenzhen Airport Terminal T3 imposes extremely high safety thresholds for pedestrian and vehicle control, which puts forward stringent requirements for the reliability and safety of perimeter security equipment. The project docking officially started in December 2025, and the anti-collision bollards were required to be put into use in March 2026, leaving an extremely tight construction period for the entire project team.
- Tight Construction Schedule: The installation of anti-collision bollards is a foundational procedure in infrastructure construction (driveway security bollard as foundational step). With the project docking starting in December 2025 and the required commissioning in March 2026, the construction cycle is extremely compressed. Any delay in this link will result in the full suspension of subsequent construction progress, directly affecting the overall project delivery cycle and the normal operation schedule of the airport.
- Stringent Craftsmanship Requirements: The airport authorities mandate that the product surface must simultaneously possess the corrosion resistance of electroplating and the visual aesthetics of paint baking. This dual-surface treatment process is recognized as a high-difficulty composite craftsmanship in the industry, requiring precise control of electroplating thickness, paint adhesion, and weather resistance to meet the long-term service demands in the harsh outdoor environment of the airport.

Flexible Production Line Adjustment: Faced with the tight construction period, Zhangjiang Group quickly activated the emergency response mechanism and prioritized the production of anti-collision bollards, including driveway bollards and security bollard. Through scientific production scheduling, we ensured the “zero-wait” delivery of the airport project.
5 Iterations of Prototype Testing: For the “paint baking + electroplating” dual process, our R&D team has carried out 5 rounds of prototype improvement successively, ensuring that the paint thickness, adhesion and weather resistance of each driveway security bollard exceed the civil aviation security standards.
On-site Factory Inspection Endorsement: After the Spring Festival, the customer’s project team visited our production base in Foshan, Guangdong for many times. After an on-site inspection of the precision surface treatment workshop, they highly recognized Zhangjiang’s quality control system.
Project Outcomes
Upon finalizing the technical details, we immediately transitioned to large-scale production. Installation officially commenced on March 8th.

Current Progress: 450 units of automatic rising bollards have been successfully commissioned and are currently in stable operation.

Final Delivery: The remaining units are being installed according to the master plan.
Once completed, the full suite of 940+ driveway security bollard will provide a stable, efficient, and impenetrable security barrier for Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport T3.
